The Wildheart Animal Sanctuary

The Wildheart Animal Sanctuary is one of the largest tiger sanctuary in europe. Located on the seafront at Yaverland, the zoo has the nickname of "The Zoo on the beach"

The Zoo has a large family of tigers and lions,plus primates such as lemurs and monkeys. There is also a petting zoo and a area dedicated to reptiles and insects.

2018 the zoo rehomed 5 ex-circus tigers, giving them a happy retirement home!

Throughout the day there are events such as talks about the animals and the feeding sessions, where vistiors can watch the big cats be fed!

Also in the zoo is the "PLUTO" display. The zoo is located in the old fort, where the PLUTO pipeline was connected to the European mainland in WW2.

Foe 2023, the sanctuary is rescuing 2 more tigers, giving them a forever home on the island
